Product Details
Iron oxides are produced by synthetic processes, consisting mainly of anhydrous and hydrated forms. Available in yellow, red, brown and black, they cover a wide color range. Compared with industrial-grade versions, food-grade iron oxides feature far lower heavy metal impurity levels.

Red iron oxide (Fe2O3) is an inorganic pigment available in both natural and synthetic grades. It features a low-chroma red tone with excellent durability and cost efficiency. The synthetic product can be prepared by heating iron sulfate with quicklime in a furnace, or by high-temperature calcination of iron sulfate under air atmosphere. Naturally sourced red iron oxide is extracted from minerals such as hematite (Fe2O3) and its hydrated derivatives.
