Product Details
Potassium methylsilanetriol has the molecular formula CH₃K₃O₃Si (alternatively written as C₆H₆K₂O₃Si) and a molecular weight of approximately 208.41. It is typically a colorless, transparent liquid with a solids content generally not less than 40% and a density of about 1.3. It is miscible with water, forming a strongly alkaline solution.
Potassium methylsilanetriol is mainly used as a surface treatment agent and catalyst, improving the wettability, water resistance, and abrasion resistance of materials. Specific applications include:
as a penetrating waterproofing agent for waterproofing and moisture-proofing building materials such as concrete, masonry, and gypsum products; as a catalyst in organic synthesis; and as a hydrophobic additive in cultural relic restoration, wood treatment, and water-based coatings.
