Product Details
Sodium Methylbenzotriazole (CAS# 15217-42-2) is a water-soluble corrosion inhibitor for copper and its alloys. It forms a protective film on metal surfaces to prevent oxidation and corrosion, with 40% active content for reliable performance. Fully soluble in water and glycols, it’s widely used in cooling systems, metalworking fluids and coatings. Store in a cool, dry area; wear protective gear when handling, and refer to MSDS for safety. Cost-effective, eco-friendly and versatile, it meets industrial needs with low dosage.

Applications of Sodium Methylbenzotriazole
Corrosion Inhibitor:
It is primarily used as an anti-rust and corrosion prevention agent for metals such as silver, copper, lead, nickel, and zinc. By adsorbing onto the metal surface, it forms a thin protective film that blocks corrosive substances like water and oxygen from reaching the metal, thereby preventing deterioration. It is widely applied in circulating cooling water systems, heat exchangers, air-conditioning equipment, and other systems containing copper components.
Additive:
It can also serve as an additive in lubricants, coatings, synthetic detergents, and similar products, helping enhance their performance and extend their service life.
