Calcium pantothenate, also known as calcium D-pantothenate or calcium pantothenic acid, is a natural form of pantothenic acid — an essential vitamin widely existing in various foods. It has obtained GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) certification in both the United States and Europe. As specified by FDA regulations, the content in prepared infant formulas shall not be less than 300 micrograms (mcg) per 100 calories.

It is applied in biochemical research as a nutritional component for tissue culture media. Clinically, it is used to treat vitamin B deficiency, peripheral neuritis and postoperative colic.
It functions as a food fortifier, with a dosage of 15–28 mg/kg added to infant food, and a typical incorporation level of 2–4 mg/kg in beverages.
